WestCharge is a company that creates a wireless charging ecosystem for its customers at various touchpoints throughout the day. We aim to solve a customer’s common anxiety of being powerless on smartphones and other devices in a safe and convenient way. Having a product that interacts directly with a consumer, we ensure that our business model is sustainable in every possible way.
Our fundamental policy of abandoning wires is our first step towards sustainability. We often have different wires for different devices. This creates a plethora of wires around us. In most cases, worn out wires are also not disposed of correctly. They must be segregated into e-waste. 95% of e-waste can be recycled and reused. Thus, doing away with wires and exploring wireless chargers solves both these problems. One wireless charger is enough for every wireless enabled device around you. Our receivers do the trick for non-wireless enabled devices too! This eliminates the surplus of cables needed for individual devices and substantially reduces the amount of waste generated from charging cables.
In addition to our wireless technology, WestCharge believes in ‘future-proofing.’ Currently, most wireless-enabled phones charge at a maximum of 7.5-10W. Our chargers can support Fast-Charging at 15W as well. Hence, our product is a fast charger today and will not become obsolete in the near future as it can accommodate the higher wattage phones that are yet to become commonplace in the market. Furthermore, our receivers (that can be externally attached to the phone) can charge devices that do not support wireless charging. This enhances our market and prevents any kind of device discrimination/restriction.
While companies can seem sustainable in every way, a true test of sustainability lies with its certifications. Here at WestCharge, we are proud to be working towards RoHS certifications for all of our product range. Our app and backend follows GDPR compliances to be relevant and scalable globally without wastage of resources in reworking. We reuse some of our glass and aluminum components for personalization changes on the chargers so as not to create waste. We design products for minimal packaging as a key design principle and use recycled materials as much as possible.
WestCharge strives towards sustainability through its core fundamentals of providing accessible power, our product range and an attitude to preserve this world for our future generations.
